06 Dec Annual National Heritage Railway Awards – We win ‘Highly Commended’ award
At the annual National Railway Heritage Awards ceremony at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London last Wednesday we won an award, being judged to be “Highly Commended” for our work in saving and restoring Blythburgh Station Goods Shed. This building is the sole remaining on the whole of the Southwold line (nearly 9 miles) Due to the unavailability of both of our Co-Chairmen. James because of illness and Ken because of potential Jury Service, our volunteer, Paul, represented the Society and collected the award.
