10 Mar Re-creation of the Odams’ Shed at Blythburgh Station
We are always striving to re-create or bring back, whichever is the correct turn of phrase, the iconic, idyllic and certainly much missed, Southwold Railway, wherever possible, however and whenever our limited funds permit. So, to that end we are currently trying to create an exact replica of the ‘Odams’ Shed (so called because of the Odams’ advertisement it, which featured in many a photograph of the railway taken from the bridge over the railway at Blythburgh, as illustrated here. We will not be able to put it in exactly the same place as it was before (it was in place until 1973/1974) but it will still be overlooking the River Blyth and instead of it use most likely as a corn store, we would like it to be used as a bird hide.
