The first passenger train to travel anywhere along the Southwold Railway since 11 April 1929

On 24th October 2023, at Blythburgh Station, this became the first passenger (comprising our volunteers) train to run along the Southwold Railway trackbed since closure of the railway on 11 April 1929. We used our solar powered Greenwood and Batley battery locomotive to haul our (at present) open topped passenger wagon. Indeed, this was the first passenger trip anywhere along the Southwold Railway trackbed since the said date.
