17 Aug The Official Opening of the Odams’ Shed on 11th August 2026 at Blythburgh Station
Our recreated and now completed Odams’ Shed, situated at Blythburgh Station, was opened officially at 2pm last Tuesday, 11th August, by Councillor June Mummery, Suffolk County Councillor for the Carlton Colville Consituency.
Jayne Phoenix, Project Manager for Museums at Suffolk County Council and Secretary for the Association for Suffolk Museum, who facilitated the grant we received from the Council, also attended the ceremony. The grant helped us pay for the materials for the shed, which was designed and built by our volunteer, Tim R, aided by the rest of the Blythburgh team. The building rests on the stone supports that the original building, demolished in 1975, rested on.
We thank Jayne and June for giving up their time to visit us and hope they both enjoyed their stay with us.
