17 Feb We finish second in the Heritage Railway Association’s Awards in Brighton
On Saturday February 10th 2024, Blythburgh Team Members Shirley and Paul attended the Heritage Railway Association’s annual awards ceremony in Brighton. The Blythburgh team finished second and won a “Highly Commended” award (our third such), for “Team Of The Year’, which was a tremendous achievement, considering the extent of the competition we faced. We and four other railways were competing for the title.
Our team very much deserves this recognition and it will help to put us firmly on the Heritage Railway map. We have only been in existence for five years, whereas the winners of the award, the Talyllyn Railway, are a very a long established preservation society, having been formed in 1951.
